The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Friday, rose from an emergency meeting in Abuja, endorsing autonomy for states judiciary and legislature.
The forum, chaired by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, enjoined the states to commence implementation of the recommendations by the Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal-led Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to achieve the goal.

The governors said they would consult with their attorneys-general to provide all necessary legal frameworks for the implementation of the recommendations.

The APC governors acknowledged receipt of the proposed timetable for congresses leading to the national convention of the party. They expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee on the registration and revalidation of members of the party.

The governors applauded the caretaker committee for winning high profile politicians into APC. Among the new converts are Ebonyi and Cross River states governors; former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel; former Speakers of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Dimeji Bankole, and some serving National Assembly members.

The governors urged the Buni committee to prioritise reconciling all leaders of APC as the party commences the processes of electing new leaders at all levels.

Meanwhile, for allegedly hobnobbing with the South West Agenda for 2023 (SWAGA), a political platform rooting for the presidential aspiration of the former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, the Ekiti chapter of APC, has again suspended two members of the party.

The two victims, Kayode Adetifa and Jide Oso, are APC members in Ward 9, Owaye quarters in Ayede Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area.

The suspension came barely two months after the Chairman of Ward 8, Ado Ekiti Local Government, Mr. Clement Afolabi, was slammed with suspension over similar offence.

Their suspension were contained in two separate letters, signed by the ward executives.

The letters dated May 31,2021, read in part: “We noted from your activities in the party in the recent past that you have been working against the unity of the party even to the extent of creating a parallel ward that you named ‘SWAGA’ within the ward.”
